Highlights from Friday, 14 November 2008

CRIC 7 Chair Torres opened the closing plenary at 10:05 am on Friday, 14 November. After delegates learned that the Spanish COP 8 Presidency had supported an effort leading to an agreement with the Joint Inspection Unit on the financing of the assessment of the Global Mechanism, and that the assessment would begin in December 2008, delegates adjourned until the afternoon, when the CRIC 7 draft report was distributed. After reviewing the draft report, delegates reconvened at 4:00 pm and offered comments on the draft and the challenges that must be addressed in the lead up to and at COP 9. Delegates adopted the CRIC report and the meeting was closed at 5:58 pm.
