Participants celebrated 30 years of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development, with many noting its successes as a science-policy interface as well as the challenges the CCICED faces as it continues its work

For each part of the the triple planetary crisis, the Montevideo Programme V will seek to help countries with legal responses to implement their obligations under relevant multilateral environment agreements.

The Basel Convention flexed its institutional muscle, while the Rotterdam Convention managed to add just two of the seven chemicals proposed to its prior informed consent procedure. The Stockholm Convention continued to list new chemicals, but it now faces the downstream consequences of that success: new chemicals bring added implementation challenges.
