Immediately prior to the High-level Dialogue on Energy (HLDE), Energy Action Days brought together representatives of business, foundations, cities, youth and other segments of civil society to announce “Energy Compact” commitments. The Energy Compacts are meant to mobilize partnerships for transformative action toward achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG 7) on clean, affordable energy for all by 2030 and achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

The Energy Action Day on 22 September featured high-level panels organized on the overarching theme, “The Power of SDG 7 to Create a Better Future for People and Planet.” The panels focused on two of the five themes of the global roadmap to be presented to the HLDE: “energy access” and “role of energy in advancing a just and inclusive energy transition.”

The Energy Action Day on 23 September featured high-level panels organized on the overarching theme, “Let's Get it Done! Catalytic Finance for Universal Energy Access and Advancing the Energy Transition.” The panels focused on three of the five HLDE themes: “finance,” “energy transition” and “data, innovation and technology.”
