GGGI at COP 26

Through its support to help governments in developing countries and emerging economies transition to an environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive model of economic growth, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is assisting countries to deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement.

Based in Seoul, Republic of Korea, GGGI is a treaty based international, inter-governmental organization that supports GGGI’s operating model maximizes the potential to translate green growth strategies and policies, particularly economic policies, into green investment plans, mobilizing green finance commitments needed to bolster support for low-carbon and climate-resilient economic development and institutional capacity development. GGGI specifically aims to, inter alia: catalyze and accelerate access to climate finance and green investments for GGGI’s Members’ public and private sectors; achieve a sustainable and circular bioeconomy while securing healthy natural systems; and make cities and communities sustainable, livable, and resilient, supported through green jobs, services, and green infrastructure capital markets innovations.

To help advance its objectives, GGGI at COP 26 will bring Members and partners together to share knowledge, lessons, and experiences on such topics as: carbon pricing and market mechanisms; approaches to climate-smart COVID-19 recovery; NDC targets and green jobs creation; targets and strategies towards net-zero; innovative and sustainable finance; and gender and social inclusion in climate action.
