The 2015 meeting of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) under the auspices of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) concluded on Wednesday, 8 July. In the morning and afternoon the ministerial segment of the HLPF convened in moderated discussions on "Reviewing and monitoring progress—what have we learned and how can it advance implementation" and "realizing the SDGs--matching ambitions with commensurate means of implementation (MOI)-resources, technology and capacities. The general debate of the high-level week under ECOSOC continued in the morning.
During lunch side events took place on: multi-stakeholder partnerships beyond remittances—sustainable entrepreneurship for local communities in post-2015; outcomes of regional consultations on sustainable development and the post-2015 development agenda in Asia and the Pacific; League of Arab States—platform for follow up and review to ensure achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the Arab Region; and the municipalization process of SDGs--the role of civil society.
The HLPF was closed by ECOSOC Vice-President Mohamed Khaled Khiari, Tunisia, following a brief closing plenary at 4:51 pm.
