International Hydropower Association (IHA) World Congress on Advancing Sustainable Hydropower 2013

On Monday, 20 May 2013, the International Hydropower Association (IHA) began convening preliminary events in Kuching, Malaysia, leading up the opening of the IHA World Congress on Advancing Sustainable Hydropower. Throughout the day a workshop convened on Hydropower and Regional Development, organized by the IHA, the Asian Development Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the International Finance Corporation and the World Bank.

On Tuesday, 21 May 2013, the Hydropower Sustainability Assessment Council held their general meeting and the IHA Consultative Council also convened. Many participants participated in a networking tour, which took place at Sarawak Cultural Village. In the evening the Congress Offical Opening, hosted by the Government of Sarawak, took place at the Dewan Undangan Negeri, the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly.
