On Friday, 4 December 2015, a side event on climate change adaptation measures with mitigation co-benefits was organized by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) during UNFCCC COP 21 in Paris. Arabian Gulf and Red Sea adaptation actions which aim to conserve and protect marine resources were showcased. The event focused on blue carbon, and the Regional Organization for the Conservation of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden (PERSGA) efforts on coastal ecosystem-based adaptation.
