RESUMED ECOSOC SESSION:

The ECOSOC organizational session will resume debate on 29-30 April on a variety of matters, including the matter of the participation of the EEC in the CSD. The ECOSOC Secretariat plans to hold elections for the membership of the CSD for 1994, although there is strong resistance to the idea of beginning a new round of politicking and, some say, "horse trading," for the seats on the Commission so soon after the elections held two weeks ago. It is likely that decisions on the venue for the 1994 meeting and elections will be postponed, at least until after the first substantive session of the CSD in June.
