The Third Forum of Ministers and Environment Authorities of Asia Pacific will take place in Singapore from 23-25 January 2019 on the theme of ‘Innovative solutions for environmental challenges and sustainable consumption and production (SCP).’
UN Environment and Singapore’s Ministry of Water and Environment are jointly organizing the Forum, which aims to promote actions toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event will be an opportunity for Member States to provide ideas and perspectives from the Asia-Pacific region to the fourth session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-4), which takes place in March 2019.
Governments attending the Forum will review progress on implementation of resolutions from UNEA-3 in December 2017. They will also provide input to the draft resolutions and ministerial declaration to be discussed at UNEA-4.
A Major Groups and Stakeholders (MGOS) Forum will take place on 23 January, a senior officials’ meeting on 24 January, and a meeting of environment ministers on 25 January. Delegates will take part in a half-day field trip on 26 January.
