This side event is taking place during the Clean Energy Ministerial 6 (CEM6) and Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA) Second Ministerial Meeting. It is being presented by the Government of Denmark and the Global Subsidies Initiative, and hosted by the US Department of Energy and Government of Denmark.

The aim of the event is to highlight recent advances on fossil fuel subsidy reform in CEM countries, including its role in promoting clean energy. It will also discuss how to sustain the progress made, should oil prices rise again.

IISD Reporting Services, through its ENB+ Meeting Coverage, provided web coverage and a briefing note from the side event on “Fossil Fuel Subsidy Reform and Investments in Clean and Affordable Energy”.
