PARALLEL SESSIONS: |

In addition,
parallel policy dialogues convened as part of the European
Forest Week. The UNECE held a policy dialogue on “Wood energy in
the region, latest information and trends.” The European Forest
Institute convened an information event on “Forest Law
Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) activities.” The
policy dialogue on potential wood supply in Europe was convened
by the Confederation of European Forest Owners (CEPF), UNECE and
FAO. The UNECE and FAO Team of Specialist on Gender also convened a dialogue on Gender and
Forestry. The IUFRO and Finnish Forest Research Institute held a
policy dialogue on “Forests, promoting or harming human health.”
Silva Mediterranean, the Joint Research Centre Ispra of the EC,
the FAO and the Corpo Forestale dello Stato Italiano also held a
dialogue on fire management. |
