HIGHLIGHTS: Thursday, 3 June


The Ministerial segment of renewables 2004 began on Thursday. In the afternoon, Ministerial Roundtables addressed: policies for renewable energy market development; financing options; and strengthening capacities, research and technology development, and institutions. In the evening, delegates discussed the conference outcomes. Throughout the day, numerous side events took place.

This side event focused on the work of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP).

In the afternoon, Greenpeace youth staged and event in front of the main doors of Bonn's International Conference Center in order to stress the importance of international policy and commitments for the implementation of renewable energies.


Jürgen Trittin and Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul pressed their hands into the Greenpeace youth sun to symbolize their Germany's commitment to move "full speed ahead for renewable energy".
