 IISD RS will be providing coverage of the Conference on Sustainable Development in Latin America and the Caribbean: Follow-up to the development agenda beyond 2015 and Rio+20. The UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) Regional Implementation Meeting (RIM) will be held in Bogota, Colombia, from 7-9 March, 2013. The meeting will focus on development goals, global and regional governance and the discussion, from a regional perspective, of implications for Latin America and the Caribbean of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD or Rio+20) (2012) and the follow-up to the development agenda beyond 2015, with the aim to inform the ongoing global processes. Coverage will include daily updates and a summary to be published at the conclusion of the session.
This conference will be preceded by the Caribbean Forum informal consultations, which will take place on 5-6 March 2013 under the theme “Shaping a Sustainable Development Agenda to Address the Caribbean Reality in the Twenty-first Century” to address, among other issues, consideration of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the post 2015 development agenda and Rio+20 follow-up initiatives.
