International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) - 15 Jan 2012

The second session of the IRENA Assembly closed on Sunday, 15 January 2012. Over 750 delegates from 73 member States, 50 signatories and states in accession, 13 other non-member states, and 70 observer organizations participated. Delegates arrived at decisions on, inter alia: work programme and budget for 2012, the secondment of personnel, ethics and conflict of interest, and the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development. In the morning, a Ministerial Roundtable on IRENA's Cooperation with the Private Sector was held. At the day’s end, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon addressed the Assembly.
