The fifth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee to prepare a global legally binding instrument on mercury (INC5) will be held from 13-18 January 2013, in Geneva, Switzerland.
This is scheduled to be the final of the series of INC meetings that were to convene prior to the 27th session of the UN Environment Programme Governing Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum (UNEP GC-27/GMEF), to be held from 18-22 February 2013, in Nairobi, Kenya, with a view to adopting the international treaty at a diplomatic conference to be held in Minamata, Japan, in October 2013.
