The AIMS (Atlantic, Indian, Mediterranean and South China Sea) Regional Preparatory Meeting for the Third International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS) concluded on Friday, 19 July, in Baie Lazare, Seychelles. The plenary convened in the morning and delegates received copies of the draft outcome document and the summary of the high-level dialogue. The drafting committee then reconvened and worked through the draft outcome paragraph-by-paragraph. At 5:00 pm, the committee concluded its work and the plenary reconvened just before 6:00 pm to adopt the outcome document. Following closing statements from Vuk Jeremic, President of the 67th Session of the UN General Assembly, Wu Hongbo, UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs and Secretary-General of the Third International Conference on SIDS, Amb. Marlene Moses, Nauru, and Chair of the Alliance of Small Island States, and Jean-Paul Adam, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Seychelles, the meeting concluded at 7:00 pm.
