Otsi.tsa.ken:RA (Charles Patton) of the Mohawk Nation opened the meeting of the Article 8(j) Working Group
and welcomed delegates to Mohawk traditional territory.

The ninth meeting of the CBD Working Group on Article 8(j) opened on Wednesday morning, and started consideration of draft guidelines on prior informed consent or approval and involvement, and on benefit-sharing in relation to traditional knowledge. SBSTTA 19 resumed consideration of revised recommendations in the afternoon and continued into the night.
