On Thursday morning, the Working Group on Article 8(j) continued consideration of the draft guidelines on PIC or approval and involvement, and on benefit-sharing from traditional knowledge use; and addressed repatriation of traditional knowledge related to biodiversity conservation and sustainable use, and UNPFII recommendations. In the afternoon, SBSTTA 19 discussed a draft recommendation on biodiversity and health, and adopted all remaining recommendations.

A contact group on the guidelines on PIC and benefit-sharing from traditional knowledge use met in the evening.
