Delegates at the start of the IPCC-42 meeting in Dubrovnik, Croatia |

On Monday, 5 October, the 42nd Session of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC-42) commenced in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Following a brief opening session, the panel adopted its agenda and began consideration of agenda items. In the morning the Panel considered matters related to conflicts of interest (COI), nominations, electronic voting, the IPCC programme and budget, admission of observer organizations and adoption of the draft report of IPCC-41. In the afternoon, the IPCC addressed agenda sub-items on: communication and outreach activities; the IPCC scholarship programme; the Expert Meeting on Climate Change, Food and Agriculture; matters related to the Task Group on Scenarios for Impacts and Climate Analysis (TGICA); matters related to the Task Force on National Greenhouse Inventories (TFI); the Workshop on Regional Climate Projections and Their Use in Impacts and Risk Analysis Studies; and an update on the decision pathway for consideration of requests from researchers for access to non-public material or meetings. |
