The side event ‘Implementing the Four-year Framework of Programme Priorities of the CBD through the Global Environment Facility (GEF) 7th Replenishment Period (GEF-7) Programming Directions’ took place during the the UN Convention on Biological Diversity COP14 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt on 17 November, presented by the GEF. GEF-7 addresses conservation priorities through a mix of traditional conservation strategies and support to transform key production systems impacting biodiversity towards environmental sustainability. GEF-7 has a renewed focus on biodiversity mainstreaming through a series of impact programmes.
