Sixth Meeting of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee (POPRC6) to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs)

11-15 October 2010 | Geneva, Switzerland

Highlights for Thursday, 14 October 2010
POPRC-6 met in morning and afternoon plenary sessions, adopting decisions on several issues, including: conflicts of interest, updating the Basel Convention technical guidelines on the environmentally sound management of POPs, and the effective participation of parties in POPRC's work.

The Committee also considered a variety of agenda items, notably the draft risk profile on HBCD and the draft risk management evaluation on endosulfan.

Drafting groups on SCCPs and HBCD were scheduled to meet on Thursday evening.
POPRC-6 Chair Reiner Arndt, on behalf of POPRC members and observers, expressed appreciation for Fatou Ouane’s long-standing efforts in supporting the work of the POPRC and congratulated her on her new job at UNEP.
