Fifty-seventh meeting of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) Standing Committee

Highlights for Monday, 14 July 2008
The 57th meeting of the Standing Committee (SC57) of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) convened in the afternoon in Geneva, Switzerland, and will continue until Friday, 18 July 2008. In plenary, delegates heard opening statements and addressed organizational matters, such as adoption of the agenda, rules of procedure, presentation of credentials and deadlines for submission of documents.

In the morning, there was a closed session of the Finance and Budget Subcommittee. The outcome of the Subcommittee will be reported back to plenary later during the week.
