Eleventh Meeting of the UN Open-ended Informal Consultative Process on Oceans and the Law of the Sea

21-25 June 2010 | UN Headquarters, New York, United States of America

UN Headquarters On Friday, delegates to the eleventh meeting of the UN Open-ended Informal Consultative Process (Consultative Process or ICP-11) reconvened for their final day of discussions on capacity building in ocean affairs and the law of the sea, including marine science.

In the morning, the Co-chairs' summary of discussions was distributed to delegations, and after remaining country statements were heard, the meeting was suspended briefly for delegations to consider the summary. Discussion of the Co-chairs' summary then began, and was completed in the afternoon.

After closing remarks, in which the Co-Chairs highlighted DOALOS Secretary Gabriele Goettsche-Wanli's many years of service and wished her success at her new post elsewhere in the UN, the Consultative Process was declared closed at 4:29pm.

The Earth Negotiations Bulletin summary and analysis of ICP-11 will be available on Monday, 28 June 2010 at this site.
