Twenty-fifth Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer

The twenty-fifth Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer will be held from 21-25 October 2013 in Bangkok, Thailand. The preparatory segment will be held from 21-23 October 2013 and the high-level segment will be held from 24-25 October 2013. The meeting will consider, inter alia: issues related to Article 2 of the Protocol, including essential-use exemptions for 2014-2015, critical-use exemptions for 2014-2015, and the uses of controlled substances as process agents; the final report by the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel (TEAP) on additional information on alternatives to ozone-depleting substances; and organizational issues related to the TEAP. It will also take up the implementation of the Protocol with regards to small island developing states and proposed amendments to the Protocol.
