Latin American representatives engage in a lively discussion.

The PC met in plenary throughout the day. Participants heard reports on a number of issues, including: the review of source code ‘R’; the mahogany working group; cooperation with other conventions; the joint CITES-ITTO timber programme; and the new online management system to implement the RST of Appendix II species. The PC also heard a summary of Argentina’s proposal to CoP15 on moving Bulnesia sarmientoi from Appendix III to Appendix II, and did not approve Germany’s proposal on certification and labeling of timber.
