. Twelfth Session of the Working Group I (WGI) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Thirty-sixth session of the IPCC

IPCCThe IPCC WG I will meet from 23 to 26 September 2013 in Stockholm, Sweden, followed by a session of the entire Panel. The meeting is expected to endorse the findings of the first part of the Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) addressing the Physical science basis of climate change. As such, IPCC WG I will have to approve line-by-line the Summary for Policy-Makers and accept the underlying assessment of scientific literature. Subsequently, the Panel will convene in full to formally give the effect to the endorsement of the WG I report.

The AR5 has been under preparation for six years and consists of the contributions by the three WGs of the IPCC and a Synthesis Report. The Panel will consider the WG II contribution dealing with Climate change impacts, adaptation and vulnerability in March 2014 in Yokohama, Japan, and the WG III contribution on Mitigation of climate change in April 2014 in Germany. A Synthesis Report of all three WG volumes is expected to be finalised in October 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
