The high-level segment began in the morning with statements by the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, CSD-15 Chair Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah (Qatar) and Gro Harlem Bruntland.

Valli Moosa, Eskom Holdings Limited, Daniel Yergin, Cambridge Energy Research Associetes and Suleiman Jasir Al-Herbish, OPEC Fund for International Development

The Roundtable was moderated by Chair Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah (Qatar).


 
Farmers raised the issues of carbon fixing and using agriculture for fuel.
Valli Moosa called on the UN to implement energy saving measures throughout its buildings.
