The Asia and Pacific Regional Implementation Meeting on Rio+20 Outcomes, convened by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), opened today in Bangkok, Thailand. During the opening session, participants heard statements from Noeleen Heyzer, ESCAP Executive Secretary, Young-Woo Park, Regional Director, Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, UN Environment Programme, and Daniele Ponzi, Asian Development Bank.
