Highlights and images for 27 March 2026

Bangkok, Thailand

On the final day of its 64th session, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) dealt with several significant unresolved issues on its agenda, including: the timeline for the seventh assessment cycle; a review of the IPCC principles and procedures; and approval of the draft meeting reports from IPCC-61, -62, and -63.

After lengthy deliberations, the Panel deferred consideration of the timeline for the Working Group contributions to the Seventh Assessment Report to IPCC-65. They reached an agreement to consider review of the Principles and Procedures at future sessions, as appropriate. Members also agreed to defer consideration of the three meeting reports to IPCC-65.
