Youth and future generations—those who will be most impacted by climate change—gathered together with decision-makers and representatives from UN organizations to explore topics such as the post-COVID recovery, the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the UN Environment Programme, and engagement of youth in environmental negotiations.

The first part of the 2022 Youth Environment Assembly (YEA) took place in a hybrid format, both online and in Nairobi, Kenya, from 19-20 February 2022, on the sidelines of the resumed session of the UN Environment Assembly. It showcased and discussed the overarching message of #ThePowerInYOUth. The second part of the 2022 YEA will take place from 25-27 February.
