Highlights for Wednesday, 11 November 2009
On Wednesday, the Forty-fifth Session of the International Tropical Timber Council (ITTC) entered its third day of discussions in Yokohama, Japan. In the morning, the Committee on Finance and Administration met to discuss: the administrative budget for 2009; contributions to the administrative budget; and the current status of the administrative account. The Committee on Reforestation and Forest Management (CRF) met to consider completed projects and pre-projects, and to discuss items in the Biennial Work Programme for 2010-2011 relevant to the CRF. The Council then met to discuss: ITTO Diagnostic Missions; Thematic Programmes; and developments within the climate change regime relevant to ITTO.

The Council reconvened in the afternoon for the annual timber market discussion, followed by a review of recent policy developments in major markets for timber products. This was followed by a joint meeting of the Committees on Economic Information and Market Intelligence and the Committee on Forest Industry.
