Bonn Climate Change Conference - June 2024
Parties will discuss lessons learned from the first Global Stocktake, progress on developing reporting tools under the Paris Agreement’s enhanced transparency framework, and support for developing countries to prepare their biennial transparency reports (which all parties are to submit in 2024).
4th International Conference on SIDS
The fourth SIDS Conference is expected to adopt a new programme of action with specific targets for SIDS sustainable development over the next decade. The conference will also feature five interactive and multi-stakeholder dialogues to address current and emerging challenges and opportunities for sustainable development.

IUFRO Side Event at UNFF19: Presentation of Report by IUFRO’s Science-Policy Programme on International Forest Governance
A side event organized by the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO), held during the 19th session of the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF19), launched the publication of the first global synthesis report on international forest governance in 14 years.

After a challenging week, delegates successfully adopted a declaration signalling high-level commitment to forests, and an omnibus resolution that reviewed the effectiveness of the International Arrangement on Forests and set the mandate for specific future actions to halt and reverse deforestation and forest degradation.
4th Session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee to Develop an International Legally Binding Instrument on Plastic Pollution, Including in the Marine Environment (INC-4)
While the plastic pollution negotiations started with lofty ambitions, it has become clear that a strong treaty is in no way guaranteed. With one more scheduled meeting left, some delegates left Ottawa wondering if they still had time to reach agreement to stem the tide of plastic pollution.
