Fiftieth Session of the International Tropical Timber Council (ITTC) and Associated Sessions of the Four Committees

The fiftieth session of the International Tropical Timber Council (ITTC) and the associated sessions of its four Committees will be held from 3-8 November 2014 in Yokohama, Japan. The Council will discuss, inter alia: enhancing cooperation between the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) and the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES); the ITTO Biennial Work Programme 2015-2016; the implementation of the ITTO Thematic Programmes; developments regarding forests under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC); and the ITTO/Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) Collaborative Initiative to Conserve Tropical Forests.

The forty-eighth sessions of the Committee on Economics, Statistics and Markets and the Committee on Reforestation and Forest Management, and the twenty-ninth session of the Committee on Finance and Administration, will also meet during the week, to discuss their work programmes and review implementation of projects and pre-projects.
