The drafting group on PFOS alternatives
CRC-10POPRC-10POPRC-10 met for its third day on Wednesday, 29 October 2014. In the morning, the Committee met in plenary to hear reports back from the drafting groups that met during the evening. The drafting groups for pentachlorophenol (PCP), decabromodiphenyl ether (decaBDE), process for evaluating alternatives to perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS), its salts and perfluorooctane sulfonyl fluoride (PFOSF) met.

During lunch, participants attended a side event on PCP, its salts and esters organized by Wood Preservation Canada.

In the afternoon, members met in plenary and adopted a decision on the guidance on alternatives to PFOS, its salts and PFOSF and their related chemicals. Members then continued their discussions in drafting groups for PCP and the process for evaluating alternatives to PFOS.

In the evening, a Friends of the Chair group met to discuss the draft report for the evaluation of information on PFOS, its salts and PFOSF.
