On Tuesday, 22 March, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group III (WGIII) continued its line-by-line review of the Summary for Policymakers (SPM) of the WGIII contribution to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report (AR6). Delegates met in two plenary sessions and considered text related to system transformations to limit global warming.

In contact group meetings, delegates discussed sections and subsections in the SPM relating to:

  • regional contributions to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions;
  • how laws and institutions support mitigation of climate change;
  • market and regulatory instruments for mitigation;
  • international cooperation;
  • financial flows.

WGIII will continue its work on Wednesday.
