Highlights from Friday, 6 June
On Friday, the AWG-LCA convened in the morning to reflect on progress and agree on next steps. Contact groups and informal consultations convened on a range of issues, including capacity building, decision 1/CP.10 (Buenos Aires Programme of Work), LULUCF, “other issues” under the AWG-KP, non-Annex I communications, the fourth review of the financial mechanism, adaptation under the AWG-LCA, reducing emissions from deforestation in developing countries, and technology transfer. Also, an in-session workshop was held on the IPCC’s Fourth Assessment Report (AR4). Workshop on the Fourth Assessment Report (AR4) of the IPCC

During this workshop, delegates heard presentations from lead authors and coordinating lead authos of Working Groups I, II and III. |
Thomas Stocker, Working Group I (right) presented teh physical science basis of the AR4, together with the latest findings since its preparation, including on Antarctica ice cores, Atlantic thermohaline circulation and Arctic sea ice. |
