A For-Hire Reporting Service from IISD for Environment and Sustainable Development Meetings

Background

ENB+

Four years after the Earth Negotiations Bulletin (ENB) was launched at the 1992 Earth Summit, IISD Reporting Services (IISD RS) expanded its coverage of intergovernmental negotiations to other meetings, such as conferences, workshops, symposia or regional meetings that are not covered by ENB.

IISD RS “for hire” ENB+ offers an authoritative, knowledgeable, committed and experienced pool of 80 expert writers from around the world who have substantial experience working in the environment of multilateral negotiations.

This independent conference service builds upon the success of ENB in increasing the transparency of the international policy-making process by expanding the volume, breadth and quality of information and providing more comprehensive coverage of environment and development negotiations. According to a recent survey, our readers work mainly in government, and for research/academic institutions. We also have readers from non-governmental organizations the UN/intergovernmental organizations and the private sector. Our readers are well distributed geographically, with the largest group based in Europe, followed by North America, Asia/Middle East, Africa, Latin America/Caribbean, and Pacific/Australasia.

IISD coverage provides:

  • an objective, accurate report of the meeting, produced within 48 hours
  • the option of daily web updates, along with photographs and text
  • Twitter updates and RSS feeds while the meeting is in progress
  • a permanent home for the report on the IISD website, for access by a committed readership of about 125,000 high-level policy makers, academics and other stakeholders
  • announcements of the meeting by free subscription to our issue-specific mailing lists
  • distribution of the report by free subscription to our issue-specific mailing lists
  • global reach - increasing the chances that the meeting's outcomes will continue to influence policy making at the international, regional, national or sub-national levels as well as research, thinking and action long after the meeting is over

To arrange coverage for your meeting or conference, please contact the ENB+s Managers: Tomilola Akanle Eni-ibukun, Brett Wertz and Melanie Ashton.
